The Chaska Police Department is holding a Law Enforcement Torch Run at 1 p.m., June 22 in Firemen's Park. The event is tied to Special Olympics Minnesota. Law enforcement from across Minnesota is running the Special Olympics Torch throughout the state, culminating at the Summer Games Celebration Ceremonies on June 24.
Chaska middle school teacher cited for disorderly conduct

A Chaska Middle School East teacher received a disorderly conduct citation (a misdemeanor) following an incident with a student, according to a Chaska Police report. At about 8:45 a.m., May 26, John Thomas Saindon allegedly grabbed a sixth-grader at Chaska Middle School East after the student attempted to run a race in his bare feet after the teacher told the student not to, the report stated.

Jason Foster lived by one golden rule: “You’re never promised tomorrow so be happy you have today.” It’s a rule his family and friends are now struggling to remember as they mourn the 34-year-old’s death. A stabbing at Kelley's Bar Friday morning left a Chaska man dead and a Minneapolis man facing a murder charge.  According to police, a fight occurred outside of Kelley's Bar in downtown Chaska around 1:52 a.m. Friday. During the altercation, 34-year-old Jason David Foster, of Chaska, suffered multiple stab wounds. He was transported with severe injuries to Two Twelve Medical Center where he later died.
