Freezing rain possible tonight?

Increasing clouds will gather as the day progresses, leading to light rain later this afternoon and evening. Our high today should reach 42 degrees. During the overnight hours and into Sunday morning we could see some sleet and freezing rain in our area, as well as a bit of light snow. However, with a high temp on Sunday expected to reach into the middle 40's, any snow or ice that does accumulate should quickly melt away. When will we see our first 50 of the year? That delightful event might come as soon as next week, so stay tuned...

Our weather stats from Friday include a high temperature of 43 degrees, while our low last night dropped to 24 degrees. The record high temperature for this date is 72 degrees (set in 2000), while March 6 is the second of three consecutive days with a record low of minus 14 degrees (this particular -14 occurred on this date in 1989). The averages for today are 38 and 18, so it looks as though we will be enjoying yet another "above average" day today! The river has risen ever so slightly overnight, sitting at 8.08 feet as of 5:00 a.m..
