$12 million trust for a dog? by

When hotelier Leona Helmsley died earlier this month, she left behind a will containing some surprising demands for her fortune.

According to a CNN story, Helmsley left $3 million behind to keep clean the mausoleum where she was laid to rest.

Five million dollars each went to two of her four grandchildren as long as they visited their father's grave at least once a year. Her other two grandchildren got nothing.

But most surprising, perhaps, was a $12 million trust for her dog Trouble. No one person received more in Helmsley's will than her dog, which will eventually be laid next to her when it dies.

TELL US: Have you made provisions for your pets in your will? Would you leave money behind to see that your pets were taken care of?

I love it when people leave bizarre wills like that. What must those grandchildren have done to rate lower than the dog? Who spends the money on the dog’s behalf? I want that job.
