During River City Days, the Chaska Herald offered people the opportunity to get their photo published in the newspaper for a $2 donation to the Chaska Historical Society. From Friday night through Saturday, 42 people or groups of people had their photo taken, donating a total of $87 (one $3 donation sans photo). This year, the Herald is also posting the photos on its Web site.
Restoration work on 1938 historical marker

Restoration work is underway at the 1938 roadside historical marker , located west of Chaska on County Road 61. MnDOT, working with the State Historical Preservation Office, is in charge of the $170,000 project, which is slated to finish up by late July. Approximately 283 volunteers converged on eight sites throughout Chaska on May 9 for the annual Christmas in May. During the day-long event volunteers rehabilitated seven homes of community members who face physical or financial restraints. Volunteers also painted the building that houses the non-profit Love INC, located off of Bavaria Road.
