Jury selection to begin in murder trial

Jury selection will begin next week in the murder trial of Jesse James Rogers. Rogers is facing charges of second-degree murder in the fatal stabbing of 35-year-old Jason Foster. Foster died following an alleged altercation with Rogers outside Kelley’s Bar in downtown Chaska in the early morning hours of June 3. A McDonald's for northern Chaska?

McDonald's is proposing a second Chaska location, this one up by Kohl's on the north end of town. According to Sean Olsen's Brick City Blog , the proposal will be on the Planning Commission's agenda next Wednesday. Olsen is a member of the city's Parks Board.

Lenzen receives Klein award

John Lenzen got his first loan from KleinBank, then called First National Bank of Chaska. The year was 1963 and Lenzen’s parents had just passed away. March 8, 1945: Herald reports Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Steinberger were notified that their son Pfc. Florian Steinberger was killed on Luzon, in the Philippines. Pfc. Steinberger becomes the sixth Gold Star Serviceman of Chaska and the third local man to have lost his life in the Pacific Theatre of War.
Chaska hires new assistant city administrator
The City of Chaska has hired a new assistant city administrator. According to the latest city newsletter, Jeffrey Dahl will fill the vacancy made by Bart Fischer's departure. Fischer left Chaska to take a job as the city administrator in Falcon Heights. Dahl was chosen from a pool of more than 60 candidates for the position. Chaska principal is candidate for Shakopee assistant superintendent
According to the Shakopee Valley News , Sheryl Hough, principal at Chaska Middle School West, is one of nine candidates for the Shakopee School District's new assistant superintendent position. The candidates will be interviewed on March 15, with two or three returning for second interviews on March 16.  In 2010, Hough was named Hennepin Division Middle School Principal of the Year. 
Chanhassen psychologist accused of sexual misconduct
A Chanhassen psychotherapist has been charged with third-degree criminal sexual conduct, according to the Carver County Sheriff’s Office.
