A stabbing at Kelley's Bar Friday morning left a Chaska man dead and a Minneapolis man facing a murder charge.

According to police, a fight occurred outside of Kelley's Bar in downtown Chaska around 1:52 a.m. Friday. During the altercation, 34-year-old Jason David Foster, of Chaska, suffered multiple stab wounds. He was transported with severe injuries to Two Twelve Medical Center where he later died. His funeral is set for Wednesday morning at Westwood Community Church in Chanhassen.

Following the incident, police took three men into custody, including Jesse James Rogers, 32, of Minneapolis.

Rogers and another man from Minneapolis were held at the Carver County Jail over the weekend.

According to the Carver County Attorney's Office, Rogers faces a charge of murder in the second degree. Bail was set Monday at $1 million. His first court appearance is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. on Friday, June 10.

Carver County Attorney Mark Metz indicated that he would be prosecuting the case himself.

According to police, Kelley’s Bar has been a source of concern for the department. Sharp was set to meet with police and city officials, on Tuesday, June 7, to discuss issues of concern and the status of the business’ liquor license renewal. That meeting will proceed as scheduled, police stated.

Bar owner Kelley Sharp has advised police that Kelley's would be closed Friday and probably all weekend.
