The Chaska Police Department is holding a Law Enforcement Torch Run at 1 p.m., June 22 in Firemen's Park.

The event is tied to Special Olympics Minnesota. Law enforcement from across Minnesota is running the Special Olympics Torch throughout the state, culminating at the Summer Games Celebration Ceremonies on June 24.

The Chaska Police Department is holding a short run on a 2-3 mile course. People do not have to run, as they can bike, rollerblade, etc., according to a press release from Chaska Police Officer Julie Janke.

The main purpose of the run is to raise awareness for Special Olympics. There is a $10 registration fee that includes a T-shirt. Participants can sign up the day of the race; call (952) 448-4200 or e-mail JJanke@chaskamn.com.
