Students and staff at Chaska Middle School East unofficially broke the world record for the most people in a reading relay for a single book on Wednesday.

Some 755 people participated in the record-breaking attempt. Each read one line from Minnesota author Kurtis Scaletta's book "Mudville."

Footage from the event will now be sent to the Guinness World Records for verification. The previous record of 290 people was set in Vienna in 2010.
