Jury selection will begin next week in the murder trial of Jesse James Rogers. Rogers is facing charges of second-degree murder in the fatal stabbing of 35-year-old Jason Foster.

Foster died following an alleged altercation with Rogers outside Kelley’s Bar in downtown Chaska in the early morning hours of June 3.

The selection of the jury is expected to begin on the morning of Tuesday, March 13 with testimony starting the following week. The Carver County Attorney’s Office indicated that they expect the trial to last about a week.

Carver County Attorney Mark Metz is prosecuting the case. John Torres will represent Rogers.

The 32-year-old Rogers has been held in Carver County Jail since June 3.
